Myla is a 21 year old college student working towards a degree in graphic design. She is determined to one day master the ways of Photoshop and InDesign BUT IT IS NOT THIS DAY. Her greatest loves are anything Tolkien, Broadway musicals, Avatar: The Last Airbender, her never ending pile of sketchbooks, her laptop, and her trusty old iPod.
Myla was introduced to Middle-earth when she reluctantly watched The Fellowship of the Ring back in 2001 with her dad. Since that day she has spent years building up her Tolkien collection and falling more and more in love with that magical world. Her collection currently fills up two bookcases and soon she'll have to look into getting another one, but first she will need to find a spot to put it!
In 2013 she joined the Middle-earth News team which not only made her love for Tolkien stronger, but introduced her to a wonderful and beautiful group of people she now proudly calls family. She has written a number of articles and was surprised to find that she enjoyed it so much. She also discovered that she most enjoys writing about the art side of the Tolkien world and has interviewed many fantastic artists. Myla sometimes plays The Lord of the Rings Online game, you can mostly find her on the Landroval server playing as her hobbit guardian, Alellea.
Myla has quite a few bad habits which include binge-watching shows on Netflix, buying too many copies of the same book and dramatically lip syncing to show tunes. She hopes to one day visit Bilbo Baggins in his home at Bag End where he can tell her about his adventures over a nice warm cup of tea. She can dream!
